These are not rose buds but rather rose in early bloom with loose petals. The fragrance is strong, rose like. I intended to use these as tea when I ordered them. However, the water immediately turned blue when I was making the tea. I hesitated to drink it. After three washes, I still saw blue tint. The water eventually turned brown. The taste does not resemble rose tea. I think even real rose tea would loose its taste after three washes. I was disappointed that I could not use them as tea. However, it would be nice in potpourri.
